As some of you may know, the Copenhagen summer group is residing in the VM Complex designed by the Copenhagen based BIG firm.  On a recent visit to the Danish Architecture Center downtown Kay and I found Yes is More, an Archicomic on Architectural Evolution.  Yes is More offers a method behind the madness for BIG explaining how design forms and decisions were reached, all through the language of pop culture.  The architectural monograph depicts purpose driven design solutions in a comic book format.  Currently living in the V building, Yes is More has been monumental in understanding the building in which we live, as well as the City of Copenhagen.  Above you will find a few scanned diagrams relevant to the VM housing.  BIG is not pushing boundaries simply for the sake of doing so, the entire process is purpose driven.  I am not usually one for the “reading thing” but I have been unable to put Yes is More down since it’s time of purchase.

Cheers,  Tim
