In relation to the previous post about small icons of monumental influence, The Little Mermaid (Den Lille Havfrue) of Copenhagen, Denmark has been famously defaced many times.  The acts of vandalism in almost every case have been related to a political or social agenda.  Defacing this small statue, less than 5 feet in height, has become  a popular attention attracting method of expression on a global level.  To view some of the mermaid’s most memorable moments of vandalism, please CLICK HERE.
