Edgartown public library expansion – a work in progress by esfdla

Pictured above is the current plan for the Edgartown library expansion, produced by Imry Culbert Architects.  The main fault residents have with the current plan is the buffer between the 14 car parking lot and North Water Street.  The Edgartown Library Design Committee has stressed the importance of a buffer area between the parking lot and road with a minimum eight foot width to de-emphasize the vehicle upon entry.  The design committee is also competing for a state grant that would allow the desired square-footage and program elements to be constructed as planned.
